Today our friend Igor is spending the mental roulette wheel, he is pondering one of life’s big fat hairy questions. And that question is what would he do if he decided to hang up his hat on his current business? Every now and again, a thought visits me where it’s like I’ve been doing this for a long time. Maybe I should, you know, sell this business and do something else. Now, most of the time, I revert back to the idea that I’m really good at this. I’m good at teaching this too. So, I think I’m best at doing what I shouldn’t be doing, I think the value we deliver and our place in the marketplace, I think we’re good. We’ve lost it’s a shame to walk away from a profitable business. I think that’s just stupid. I mean, the way I was brought up, you don’t do something like that. So, but every now and again, a thought visits me and it’s like, well, if I lost everything tomorrow, and I couldn’t go into this, what would I be? And I think it could be one of two things. I would either, if I found the right opportunity, start some kind of an after school program where we could teach kids self-development, financial literacy, you know, success principles, things like that. And does it in a way that kids love, like to learn through games, right? Or it would be something like going into the parenting niche. And, you know, educating other parents on how to be better parents, because, and I really think that becoming a better parent starts with fixing yourself, recognizing your own flaws, and knowing yourself better. So, you don’t let those things get in the way of actually being a good parent. And only then, you know, layering it with solid parenting principles. Now the only thing that bothers me about doing something like that, if I were to do it, is that my kids are still young. They’re 10 and four.

How do I know that I succeeded as a parent, because I don’t know what’s going to happen in 1015-20 years. And you know, whether my kids will grow up to be, you know, happy, emotionally fulfilled. And I have no idea. Because there’s so many different variables and still unknown that I’m trying to figure out. And in many ways, I feel a lot with my parenting, how I used to feel with my business early on. It’s like, you’re just figuring things out and you’re trying things to see what works and what works, you double down on it and what doesn’t work, you drop it and move on to the next technique, tactic or strategy. But there’s still very little concrete information on how you should perform as an entrepreneurial parent. I think that’s another one that really bothers me.

How do you combine the pursuit of entrepreneurship that’s never ending by the way, like once you guys hit your first $100 day, you will have an insatiable desire to hit your $1,000 day. Once you hit 10k a month. You will want to get to know 20 came on 30k 50k There’s it’s not gonna there’s no one number that’s actually going to be like, you know what, that’s enough.

I don’t think there, you know, the goalposts will keep moving, while at the same in time doing what’s best for your kids and there inspiring them to, to develop to because one of the bigger problems that I think a, you know, wealthy and successful individuals have is, especially entrepreneurs who are so consumed by their work is their kids grow up to be?

Well, not exactly. You know, there’s, it’s basically they grew up in a household where they have everything. So how do you instill the right values? How do you keep them motivated? How I see Canada here, lots of middle class and upper middle-class families. And, you know, like, say the father is like, like a, like a commercial electrician who achieved big success. But all of a sudden, you know, he’s got three daughters who all basically decide to spend daddy’s money and his son grows up to, to basically sort of stumble around until he’s 35 Still trying to figure out what he wants to do.

There are so many layers of this stuff that yeah, if I was doing this full time, I’m pretty sure I would figure it out by now but I’m not so middle-class it’s a part time gig and, but it’s fascinating.
