Whenever I work on anything new, whether it be a sequence or a funnel, or anything, it’s never all at once, because my mind just gets lost if I try to think of everything at once. It’s just that I’m not a very creative thinker in that way, where I can take chaos of ideas and organize them. Instead, I try to think sequentially. I try to think in terms of pipelines and systems. And usually, systems and pipelines have a point B point C and all the way, you know, to point Z. And you know, for me, it’s very important to structure my work to know exactly what my point A and what my point z is. Because then I can fill the gaps in between as I do the work. So, I’ve actually used this trick with one of my team members who was really, really struggling to be productive for weeks and weeks and weeks. And I was like, you know, at some point, it was like, I really don’t know what to do. But then I suggested that she take any task that I give her to do. And she breaks it up into small steps or milestones that are clearly measurable.

So, no matter how small the task is, let’s say the task is writing an email. Okay, that’s a very, very small task. So, the way to approach it is to break your email into stages, or to break your email writing process into stages. So, one could be coming up with the main idea for the email, the second stage could be writing the opening paragraph. The third stage could be writing the middle part. The fourth stage could be writing the ending and a call to action. And the fifth stage could be writing the subject line or multiple subject lines. And then the next stage is to, you know, load the email into the email software and hit send. So, you see, when you’re able to chunk it down like that, and focus on each one of these at a time, it will not feel overwhelming. So, whenever I work on an email sequence, for example, I never work on the sequence. Or my first I don’t work on multiple email sequences. But within the sequence itself, I also work on one email at a time. But before I would go there, I would actually start by with an outline. This is something I learned when I was writing my book that really helped structure my time when writing my book and make my writing much faster. I would always have an outline for So, the book for First of all, the whole book had an outline. So, I didn’t start writing before I had an outline of the entire book from the introduction, chapter one, chapter two and all the way to the last chapter. But in addition, for each one of the chapters, I wrote down the main idea

And then I would actually create an outline for the chapter as well, before I would sit down to write the chapter. And so, when I’ve done that, writing the book became very easy. And very fast, I would get a chapter done and like maybe an hour, an hour and a half. And my book has only 14 chapters. So, I wrote that book pretty fast as a result. So whenever you work on your sequences, that’s what I recommend, have an outline for your whole sequence, from the first email to the last sent to know what each email is going to be about, then once you know what each email is going to be about with that for each one of them, create maybe a two, three, maybe four, maybe five step outline of how you want the email to flow, don’t write it, just create the outline, and then write according to the outline. And by doing so, you’ll see that the process becomes more mechanical, then it becomes creative. Because

creativity is what you need to solve problems and to get in front of a blank slate, but you will never be starting from a blank slate. And that’s the beauty of reading outlines for your work outlines for your sequences for any kind of writing that you will do. And I’ll have like 567 10 steps, if it’s really complicated. And I’ll start, you know, really going for the first thing, right. And by doing so I’m staying focused, I’m staying determined. And what’s really cool is that I build momentum. By executing each one of these smaller steps in the process, I don’t feel like I’m tackling this giant thing against which I’m powerless, I actually feel like, oh, I just tackled this thing. Okay, one down, then you can read the second test, and you’re like, oh, one more down, and another one, another one. And then all of a sudden, you look at your whole list, and you have like six items into a 10-item list, you’re like, wow, I’m actually making progress, which gives you even more motivation to continue executing on to these milestones. And once you’ve finished all the milestones, you’ve completed the big task, you know, I’m really upset that in the formal education system, they don’t teach that. Nobody teaches you how to approach a big thing. You know, they can expect you to figure it out. This is a tremendously powerful concept. For anything that you do, if you’re able to chunk things down into small steps, and something you have to learn as a business owner. Because once you start bringing people onto your team, you know, they can’t look into your mind. And for the exact same process, you’ve been doing yourself for the last year, you know, you actually have to chunk it down into actionable steps for somebody who’s never done this before. And that’s and that’s big, we operated on a very similar principle when I was in the Air Force, they wouldn’t let you get near an aero plane, unless you had this big book in your hands. And for any check, or for any procedure your airplane did, you had a very specific step by step protocol, listing every single small thing you had to do. So, believe it will literally say things like, you know, go into the back of the plane and find this thing and stand there and look up, right, then when you see this little thing with the red pin, you know, unplug the pin, okay, then once you’re plugged the pin in, open the lid, okay, so like it would really dumb it down for very, very small steps. Because when you’re letting a 19- or 20-year-old work inside of a machine, like an airplane, you have to be so specific, that it forces you to be extremely accurate in your descriptions of tasks. So, you basically end up doing this for yourself. And taking any big complex thing or project task, email, sequence, promotion, funnel, anything at all, you can really break it down. And by investing the 10 or 15 minutes of thinking time into planning this project for yourself, you’ll find that you’ll be 3 4 5 6 10 times more productive when you’re executing it. Because there will be no anxiety, there will be no fear, no uncertainty, no confusion, it’s just going to be okay, I know exactly what you need to do here. And I’ll do then, you know, once I’m done with this, I’ll do this. Once I’m done with this, I’ll do that kind of like you know, back in high school when you had to schedule, you knew that you knew 9am You got math 10am You got to English 11am You’ve got Spanish like you didn’t have to worry about it. It wasn’t a part of your mental capacity; processing power being wasted on it. So, in the same way, you know, when you chunk it down for yourself, you’ll be able to approach pretty much any project successfully.
