[00:32] In this episode, Igor is joined by Andrei Yermejev to explore the metrics of success, ways to live a higher quality of life, and make good money without sacrificing your health and relationships.
[01:12] Andrei shares his connection with World War II:
- My grandfather is Russian, he was fighting in World War II with the Russian army, but then he got captured by the Nazis and was forced to fight his own people.
- He was in concentration camps and got the opportunity to flee the war with a bunch of Russian people.
- The goal for them was to go as far south as they could go. But they ended up going to Peru to get supplies. Everybody got out of the boat and the boat left them.
- They didn’t know the language, they didn’t know basically anything. So they just have to make their life there. At least they were away from the war.
- Peru isn’t like the worst place in the world to get stuck as a Russian, because at the very least, there are no brutal winters.
- He started living his life there and working, and he ended up meeting my grandmother.
[03:56] Andrei shares a glimpse of his miserable life waiting tables:
- I was a restaurant manager for over eight years and I did it all, wait tables and clean toilets. I did everything in the restaurant.
- I met my wife in the restaurant and we ended up having a daughter. I basically missed so much of my daughter’s life because I was always at work.
- I wasn’t making enough money. It ended up being that we were in so much debt and it was just not working out.
[04:56] How did Andrei start affiliate marketing?
- Instead of getting a second job, I went on Google and typed in, “how do I make money online?”
- I found this opportunity in affiliate marketing. From there, I just put my head down and I started learning and learning and implementing everything that I was learning.
- I started using social media to promote the product that I was promoting.
- Six months from there, I was able to make more than my full-time income. I realized that time was way more valuable than me basically killing myself working at nine to five.
[06:24] How to make millions with organic traffic?
- No money on ads, just putting content out there.
- Put it on social media on different platforms. You have TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, and be consistent.
- We’ve started producing more content for social media and I’m noticing that short-form content is getting way more exposure.
- If you have a hook on the video, it makes people actually watch the whole thing, and then the whole thing is just going to be 15 seconds.
- Video is dominating over text and really short form dominates over long-form, unless you’re an exception to the rule, like Joe Rogan.
- If you post a video and it’s really interesting to somebody else, then that person is most likely going to go to your profile, and then they’re going to consume multiple videos of your content. This doesn’t happen with just one video, so you have to show a lot of consistency through maybe a month.
- So once you start sharing your story, then that’s how you end up getting your target audience.
[11:07] The importance of growing a list:
- You always have to grow a list because social media accounts are easily banned, deleted, and are easily hacked.
- The best thing that you can do is get them out of those platforms and put them on your list.
[11:48] How often do you mail the list?
- If they are going through my sequence, probably like once every single day. But then after that, I tried to email them once a week. Maybe I could be doing more, but once a week is where I have my list.
- I have two sequences going right now. They usually go around 20 days for the first one, and the second one is another 15 days. So maybe around a month.
[12:31] How to get people to actually opt-in?
- I have an opt-in website with a thank-you page. I focus on promoting one main product, and I make my content and then I tell people, either through messages or through my content itself, to go to the link on my Bio.
- TikTok is the hardest one to message people and actually communicate with them. So I try to get them off TikTok to go to Instagram.
- As soon as I have a conversation with a lead, at the end of the conversation, I have them actually go into my website so they can opt-in.
- My opt-in rate right now is above 80% just because I’m having those conversations with people.
[14:06] How to talk to your leads?
- At first, I was horrible at talking to people. I didn’t know how to talk to them. Then after a while, I ended up getting a small script. I know what to say now for a lead to convert.
[14:55] Delegating tasks to hired personnel:
- I ended up hiring a VA. So now I have somebody that works for me and handles all the messaging for me.
- She has a conversation with them. Figures out if it will be a good match or not. And, yeah, she follows my script because I perfected my script and she goes from there.
[16:20] Andrei’s content strategy:
- You want to be as consistent as possible. I post three times a day.
- I take care of myself first, before the business. Because I think that’s really important.
- Sometimes I’m really motivated and I create maybe four or five, and then I have leftovers for the next day. So that way, the next day it’s not like I’m rushing to create a new one.
[17:25] TikTok as an outreach platform:
- I use TikTok basically to create content on TikTok. I need to have people leave TikTok so I can actually have a conversation with my leads.
- If you’re going to create content, TikTok is the best place to start. Because you can have one video go viral.
- But to actually have a conversation with those people, you need to get them out of there. So I create on TikTok, I post a video, and then from there, there’s an app where I can download the video and then remove the watermark.
- And then I post them on Instagram and then YouTube shorts, and then Facebook Reels as well.
[18:07] How to optimize your TikTok post?
- So you have to use hashtags. So hashtags are really important in some of them, and then you want to optimize it as much as possible.
- The description of the video has to be something that makes sense with the video. You don’t want to create a different description of the video that doesn’t really make sense with the video.
- For the most part, the hashtags, you want to use at least three to five hashtags in each video that you post.
[23:49] How to trick Instagram’s algorithm?
- The cool thing about Instagram is that it tells you the analytics. It tells you when you have people engaged in your content.
- So if for example, that analytic goes down and people are not engaging with my content. Then I change my call to action.
- My call to actions usually are either a link on my bio, that way they can go check it out and go straight to my list, or I tell them to message me a keyword so I can just start my script from there.
- Or if I do have that low engagement on my videos, I tell them to leave a comment on the video. And then when that happens, I’m just tricking the algorithm, having people just comment on my videos, thinking, okay, this video is popping.
- This video is getting so much engagement, so let’s push it out to more people. And then when that happens, it’s just a cycle of just your videos, keep doing well, keep doing well.
[25:25] To automate or not?
- I’m a big fan of automation because it allows you to scale without having to increase your workload.
- You can increase your list size and each time you mail the list or each time you run a campaign, you’re generating more revenue and have a bigger impact just because the size of your audience grows much bigger.
[29:29] Why is Instagram the best social media platform?
- I’m able to just switch from account to account and Instagram is the only one that I have never seen any problem with.
- But if you do it on TikTok or you do it on Facebook, you can really have multiple accounts running from the same phone because then you start getting flagged.
- You start getting flagged and you start getting low engagement and then sometimes they suspend another account thinking it’s just like a scam account or somebody trying to scam people using your image.
