Growing up, I believed that wealth was something far out of reach, only attainable by those who bent the rules. It wasn’t until much later, after a few key experiences, that I began to question those beliefs. One of those moments came unexpectedly, during a talk by Neil deGrasse Tyson ๐. He shared a perspective that completely changed the way I see not just the universe, but success itself ๐ก. What I learned from that moment – and from surrounding myself with people who were ahead of me financially – transformed the way I approach business and life ๐.
[01:32] Overcoming Financial Myths:
- Raised in an environment where wealth was associated with criminal activity, Igor had this belief that money couldn’t be earned honestly.
- He learned it the hard way that these beliefs were a product of my surroundings and began to see beyond those early limitations.
[02:22] Lessons from Legends:
- Neil deGrasse Tyson makes tough topics easy to understand, showing us space images that help see things differently.
- His pictures made Igor realize there’s a lot more out there than just our planet, like the whole universe.
- It’s like realizing there are bigger chances for making money than we might think, based on who we know and what we see around us.
- Reading books and meeting successful people can open up our minds and help us find easier ways to succeed.
[04:25] Expanding Your Financial Universe:
- Hanging out with wealthier people can suddenly change how you see possibilities, much like a light switch flipping on.
- At first, you might not believe their success is real or feel like they must be cutting corners. This is just your initial defense kicking in.
- Being in the same room with successful people helps you see they are just regular people, which makes their success seem more achievable.
- Meeting people who invest in different things shows that there are many ways to grow money.
- Going to events and talking to these people in person can push you to think bigger about what you can do in business and investments.
[08:47] The Vancouver Trip:
- While attending a conference in Vancouver with top marketers, some earning much more than me, Igor asked them lots of questions and even visited one of their offices to learn their secrets.
- At first, it was upsetting because they had figured out things Igor hadn’t, making him feel left behind.
- After calming down, he started using what he learned to change how to run his business.
- This was a big step towards growing and improving.
- Inspired by the trip, he’s now working on growing my business by 50% in the next six months, which means hiring more people and reaching more customers. This all started with one eye-opening trip.
