With YouTube’s constant growth as a platform, it can be hard to grab the attention of your target audience and have them subscribe to your email list. Tune in to learn Igor’s best YouTube Ads strategies to generate more traffic and build a bigger list.
[00:00] The podcast explores Igor’s most effective YouTube ads strategies that allowed him to scale his solo ads agency and attract new customers.
How to convert your traffic immediately into a profit?
[02:01] YouTube as a traffic source:
- The traffic source is actually YouTube. It is definitely not a beginner-friendly traffic source. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re literally just getting started unless you’re comfortable with video.
- YouTube was actually a traffic source that most people don’t talk about. And most people kind of talk about Facebook ads because it’s the easiest ones.
- When you talk about YouTube, a lot of people say, “I’m not qualified to do YouTube ads because I’m not good at video, I’m not technical.”
- YouTube is not really a friendly traffic source and it does require a lot of work and a very special approach to it.
[02:52] The time Igor failed miserably at YouTube Ads:
- What happened was I tried driving traffic directly to our solo ads.
- When I drove traffic directly to our homepage for solo ads targeting basically people who visited my site. Nobody would opt-in.
- But then what happened was eventually I developed a Webinar. The Webinar is about introducing people to the idea of email marketing and email solo ads. And what I’ve done is I created a Webinar funnel and I started driving traffic to the Webinar instead. And this is where pretty much from day one, my results exploded.
[03:32] Why should you host Webinars?
- It’s like a key that unlocks many doors, including another traffic source that’s not a paid, but a free traffic source. It’s amazing what you do with the Webinar.
- If you have a page where you send people and they don’t buy right away, you retarget them back to you on YouTube.
- When they visit your page, then they go on YouTube the next day or something. They watch a video unrelated to what you’re selling, and all of a sudden, you pop with your ad before they get to watch that content.
[04:11] Understanding YouTube Ads:
- Remember, with YouTube ads, another big component is view-through conversion. So they see the ad, they don’t click on the link, but they open a new tab and they go to the page.
- For you as well as an Internet marketer, attention is what you get paid for, is your ability to gain, sustain and convert the attention of your people.
[04:41] Types of Targeting:
- The first one is retargeting. Anyone who visits my pages, I retarget them. And that’s a big audience because I get a lot of traffic to my primary page through all kinds of sources.
- The second type of audience is lists I buy. So what I’ve done is I simply went for all kinds of Intermarketing keywords. And then I’ve also focused on the influencer.
- Rather than just going after the keywords, such as how to get leads in network marketing, which is pretty much always, pretty much every single time, not as effective as going after an influencer in the network marketing community.
[05:31] Why should you retarget an influencer’s audience?
- If you’re going after network marketers, target Ray Higdon or target Todd Falcon, or target Diane Hoffman.
- Go after the influencer in the community because whoever is following the influencer would usually be way more invested in a way better lead than somebody who’s just looking for a cold keyword.
[06:10] What to do once you grab the audience’s attention?
- Once they grab their attention with a polarizing idea, then I tell them something they don’t know yet and offer them a cookie.
- So here’s this analogy I learned from Dean Jackson. If you invite someone into your home and you walk them into your living room and you invite them to sit down on your couch and you say, okay, so I’m going to be upstairs, and here’s my fridge, and here’s my coffee maker. If you want some coffee and some donuts, please help yourself.
- That person will keep sitting on your couch and will not take any donuts or coffee or anything. But if you invite the same person into your home and what you do is you basically sit them on the couch, you go to the kitchen, you come back with a tray, with coffee and donut. They will take it.
[07:17] Why should you avoid cold advertising?
- Cold advertising includes YouTube ads, AdWords, Facebook ads, and solo ads.
- When I say cold, what I mean is when the audience has no previous relationship with you whatsoever and you have to “win them over”.
- You need to give them something that you’ve created that would make them feel special, that would give them a reason to say yes and get on your list.
[07:50] How to bait people into subscribing to your list?
- The beautiful thing about it is you don’t have to publish a live thing. You can manipulate the video, you can control it. You don’t need to be a ridiculously skilled copywriter to do it, and you don’t need to be a social media superstar.
- Whenever you’re shooting videos or putting out any sort of communication with your marketplace, or with your target market, you always want to focus on talking about their fears, frustrations, their enemies, their suspicions, and their desires.
- What you’re doing is basically you’re talking about the things that interest them instead of talking about the things that interest you. And as long as you do that and then at the end of your video, always offer some kind of solution or call to action.
