The Surprising Link Between Car Troubles and a 5-Figure Leap

Let’s talk about something that might not sound exciting but is absolutely essential if you want to make money online: email. For me, there’s a direct link between sending emails and making money. Every time I hit “send,” sales come in. It’s like a reflex now, kind of like Pavlov’s dog, but instead of salivating for food, I’m salivating for sales. But here’s the thing, it didn’t start that way. When I first began, it felt like nothing was happening. I’d send emails, promote offers, and… crickets. A few sales here and there, but nothing consistent. It was frustrating. Until one day, something clicked. Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been at this for a while, staying consistent with your emails can transform your business.

with emails, for me, there’s a very direct link in my head between sending emails and making money. Because, every time I send emails, I make money. So, I mean, at some point, a reflex was formed, kind of like the Pavlov dog experiment. At some point, whenever I would see an email, whenever I would sit down to write an email, I would be writing it with the anticipation of money coming in. So, my greed glands would inflate. But, the way I understood the consistency of it was over time. It wasn’t clear to me from the get go. Because when you’re just starting to build your list, at first, it seems like nothing’s happening. But the reality is that it is, you’re just planting lots of seeds!

For me, I went through a point where I was mailing different offers for a couple of months without making any money. It was very frustrating. I would make a few sales here and there, but nothing really consistent at all, and every promotion was like a gamble, until one day when I sat down and I wrote an email out of frustration.

You know, that day, I took someone to the airport using my dad’s car to make some extra money. I think I made like, 100 bucks for that, because the airport was like three hours away. So, I took this guy to the airport, then I came back home, and my back was killing me because I ended up getting stuck in traffic in a really uncomfortable car, which is a Dio in Be’er, but in the US, it’s like a Chevy Cruze kind of car, you know. So, I ended up getting stuck in traffic. It was a manual gearbox, and the gearbox was broken, so to shift between the first and the second, you had to almost use both of your hands because it was getting stuck there. Maybe it wasn’t well oiled or something.

Anyway, I came back home. My back’s hurting like hell! I’m exhausted, because I’ve been driving for like, seven hours straight. My hand is hurting, and I just sat down on the couch, and my dad was watching football. I knew I needed to send an email. I really didn’t want to do it, but I really had to do it, because I was committed. I mean, it was either that or working a day job for the rest of my life. And by then, I’ve tried every trick in the book. I’ve tried every way to make money, and I understood that this is the way to make money. Like it was clear to me that mailing the list, having a list, is the way to make money.

So, I sit down and I just write this heartfelt story email where I just literally share everything that happened that day and how frustrated I was and my back was hurting. Then I would say, look, I tie it back to the promotion. The promotion was for something called “The Deadbeat Super Affiliate” by Dan Brock. And I just said, look, take a shortcut, don’t work hard, something like that. So I was complaining about working hard, and I said, Take a short and I sent the email without expecting much to happen. I shot off my computer, and I kept on watching football with my dad.

Later, like three hours later, before going to bed, I checked my clickbank account and there were like seven sales there. This was the most sales I’ve made in a day, in like a single day. And this was a $70 unit for which I was getting 70% commission. So, I was getting like almost 50 bucks in sales. All of a sudden, I made more money from that one email, then I made, I think it was double the money from that one email, then I drove people around to the airport the whole day, and I scratched my head, and I was like, holy! Wow! I barely fell asleep that night. But then when I woke up, there were 10 more sales from that email in the morning, and so, I was ecstatic! Guess how excited I was to write the next email! I was really excited to get behind my computer and start writing that next email.

And I ended up doing a proper campaign with several emails, several different angles, we sent to and opened and everything. And I think I finished that promotion somewhere in the top 20. So, I was on the leaderboard, technically. And I think I won, like, a small cash prize, but it was like, by far the biggest success I’ve had by then, because that promotion ended up resulting in something like $1200 or $1700 just, like, that was more than I was making per month on my day job. It was amazing! Was an amazing feeling. And that day I knew it like, I have to stay consistent.

Now, the next promotion wasn’t as big, the next one wasn’t as big, but then the next one was kind of, bigger. And all of a sudden, before it was kind of flat lining, then it started going like that, spiking, and then like this, spiking like this, spiking like this. So all of a sudden there was a pulse. There was, like a heartbeat in my business, and I stayed consistent mailing my list ever since, making it a priority to email my list no matter what, whether I’m in the airport, whether I’m like, on a trip, if I’m in the car and it’s time to mail and I didn’t load it ahead of time, I always had my laptop with me, I stop, I go to the gas station, I have my mobile internet, I write the email, I send it out, I pretty much put emailing my list at the top of my hierarchy of values, and it became the most important thing one must do.

Now, later, I realized I didn’t have to do it myself all the time, and I hired an assistant to load my emails for me. Sometimes I will talk my emails out and have the assistant loaded. But, ever since I haven’t missed a day mailing my list! There hasn’t been a day even when there’s a crisis, even when I have to do backflips in the air to do something like, there’s never been a day where I haven’t emailed my list ever since!

Now, the best story that illustrates why it’s important to stay consistent with this, in my opinion, is when I received an email one day from a woman saying, “Igor, I’ve been on your email list for four years, and I’ve been reluctant to buy from you, but your last email got me! I’m in” right! So, somebody’s been like, on the sidelines, watching and reading my emails, maybe not every email, but reading emails for like, four years, and bam! Finally bought. Now, if you go out there and you start exploring other marketers who talk about list building, you’ll hear the story more than once. Almost every marketer has a story like that where they’re saying, hey, somebody who’s been on my list for years finally decided to buy.
