The Morning Hack That Doubles Your Productivity

There’s another principle that combined with this First Hour of Everyday principle. There’s not a principle that I believe layers on top of it really well, that I think you should consider, and that’s the principle of “Big Rocks First”!

Now, the key to high productivity is not so much changing what you do. Obviously, there’s some, you know, some logic to that, like, if you want to be productive, do things that are important. But it’s also about the sequence, like, if you have a To-do list, and that To-do list consists of five items, and you rank them for most important to least important, and you start with the least important first, because it feels like, it’s easy to complete. Right?

In other words, kind of people do tend to do that, where they would gravitate towards an easy task, because it feels like a win. But the reality is, you need to start with the most important, the scariest thing. Usually the most important is the scariest, unfortunately, and that’s the reason why we procrastinate about it so much. So you need to start with that, and that’s the big rock!

So, The First Hour of Every Day, combined with The Big Rock theory, I believe, can make any, just explode their productivity. And it’s actually one of the things I’ll be teaching at the productivity master class that I’m conducting, either this month or in March. I don’t recall exactly, but we’ll be notifying guys about that!

So I’ll be doing the master class, about my personal productivity. And this is actually part of what I’m going to be teaching, really showing you why I’m able to accomplish so much while traveling so much, while having a family, two kids with whom I’m extremely involved, meaning, I know exactly whether they’ve done their homework! I know exactly, you know where they’re heading in life. Well, maybe not that, then that’s a bit of an exaggeration! I know where they’re heading next six months.

But basically, you know, I get a lot done. And people, if you wonder why or how, this is actually how or why! The First Hour of Every Day, first two hours of every day, if you will. This is an incredible concept, which allows you to get way more done in a span of a month than you ever thought you could do in a span of six, twelve months.
I think in general, people overestimate what they’re able to do in a day and underestimate what they’re able to accomplish in a year. And usually this is part of it, incorrect priorities or procrastination about the most important thing and delaying doing these things until later in the day.

So for example, when I work with somebody and they tell me, they have a day job, and so they work on their business after they’re back from work in the evening, I tell them that I’ve tried doing that, and what ended up happening is that, I would come back from work. My work wasn’t very physical, I would say, not all of it anyway, but I found it impossible for me to sit down and just focus on work. Don’t ask me why, I don’t know! I would come back, I would have my energy, but I would just sit down and get something to you. I would watch, maybe a TV show, and I would then find myself sitting in front of the screen and staring at it. And then I would browse social media, then I would read the news. Then I would waste some more time, and I would not accomplish anything!

And after doing that for like, six months, I figured, look, this ain’t working! Something’s got to change! And so intuitively, I started working on my business before work or at work. Oftentimes I would do that too, when I worked security, I would take, you know, an actual computer with me, like, so at the time, didn’t have a laptop. So, I would take the big box thing, because, in my security booths, I had a screen that wasn’t connected to anything, so I would just bring the big box with me, with the motherboard and everything, and I would hook it up there.

My point being is you have way more energy and way more capacity for decision making and for doing the difficult things in the morning or when you wake up, like if you wake up in the middle of the day, that’s when you got to do it. So as soon as you woke up, I recommend grabbing coffee, skipping breakfast, maybe, and working on your business. That would be my recommendation, And I think this approach can make anyone so much more productive.
