My First $700 Commission

There’s a few things that I’ve looked for in my perfect online business. First off, I didn’t want to get out of the house, I spent some time working in the real world, and usually involved getting on the bus going to a different city. So like when I worked in the Dead Sea, I used to take a bus 30 minutes one way, 30 minutes the other way, usually going through like either down a mountain or up the mountain and in a twisted sort of serpentine kind of road with the risk of like boulders going kind of falling off when it was raining. In fact, there were several times when we were driving to work and there was heavy rain, and the road would get shut down in the middle and the buses would be turned around. Those were my favorite days because that meant I didn’t have to go to work. And I would still get paid. But for the most part, it actually involved going somewhere. And this bus ride meant that I needed to get out of the house like an hour early, I would make it back home an hour late, you know, and I usually would not get paid for this extra hour of travel.

Although, you know, by law, they were supposed to pay us but nobody would argue because there were no jobs. So you were just happy to have a job. I also did not like manual labor. I hated manual labor, I still hate manual labor, I won’t touch anything that’s manual labor. Aside from maybe carrying my own carry on in the airport, I’m fine with that.

But other than that, I really just despise and hate anything to do with manual labor because I worked manual labor jobs and, you know, screw that after working for just one day it’s not in the dry cleaner but basically in the hotel where I worked. I did some housekeeping but also sometimes I would be a substitute for somebody who didn’t make it to work in the laundry room. So I worked in a laundry room a few times. And Oh man, that’s a hard demanding sort of job. 

And if you guys had any manual labor jobs before, you probably can relate. And I really hated those. So I knew I wanted to go online, as soon as I learned that I could. And when I got online, I quickly realized that I don’t know everything. And there’s some things that I was willing to do, some things that I wasn’t willing to do. The other part of it is that the email writing part at first was scary.

But then I quickly not only grew into it, but I started feeling like it was almost like journaling. Almost like a therapy-like experience for me, I would actually start feeling good when I wrote emails, and I started experiencing genuine fun and geeking out on all kinds of different ways when I could write an email. 

Which is why as many of you know, I’ve ended up developing my own templates, my own approach minus strategies, storytelling, storyselling, you know, email openers, PS, etc. I ended up like I started building a swipe file. I had like 1500 different PS’s, I could place into an email, I had 200 different subject lines that I could use, like copy and paste. I saved other people’s great emails and they reworked them to fit my style. Just the whole, you have to understand we have the ability to send out an email usually written at a fifth graders level, usually less than 500 words, and we can make money coming in. Isn’t that amazing? You can send a letter, an electronic letter, and money comes in.

I mean literally as we speak right now, I’ve got an email going out. I think earlier today, and so far today, it made, I believe something like $700. I used to work the whole month to make $700 because I lived in Israel, right? So my paycheck was paid in magic beans, because that was their value. I mean, it’s related to the US dollar anyway. So always to make that in a month of labor. Now I can make that in like an hour, sending out an email, how I mean, this is like magic. It’s like I have a magic wand, only it’s not shaped as a stick.

It’s shaped as an electronic, you know, visual thing on my screen, and I hit the send button and money comes out the other way. So do you think that having gone through that experience would make me want to send more emails? Oh, yeah, absolutely, it would. And that’s the moment I knew, you know, when I made my first commission check, which was what $124.37 or something I knew, I knew. It’s like it was better than sex. It was absolutely incredible to know that I made that happen. So that’s the moment that’s the moment I need.
