The only way you know what’s working best currently, actually two ways. One is spying on the people who do well, you get on their email list, you get on their members area, you buy their products just to spy with what’s going on. And I do that, by the way. And I know people in history do that with my products as well, because I have their credit card details. And I can see their names. And besides that you do your test. You just run campaigns, sometimes completely out of left field, you know, just something that’s a completely new whim. Something you never tried before and something works, something doesn’t. And you kind of make your conclusions based on that. 

I do like to spend a lot of time Funnel Hacking people first. Like I’ll go into their webinars and I’ll watch their webinars, I’ll read their books and giveaways, I’ll buy their product, their low end product, their high ticket product, I’ll talk to their salespeople as a prospect pretending I’m going to buy, you know, I don’t think I ever told you the story. But one time, I was trying to learn how to be a better closer on the phone because I was basically doing my own coaching. But I was also doing my own closing for the coaching. And I was told by a friend who was helping me out with my funnel to go play with prospects with different companies who sell coaching on the phone. So when I was like, Okay, who sells coaching, I was like Tony Robbins. 

Okay, so I go to Tony Robbins, his website and fill out this incredibly lengthy application. Right? So I mean, the only thing you didn’t ask for is my blood sample, my stool sample and my firstborn, it was like a ridiculously extensive application, which made me realize that they’re really trying to qualify people as much as possible because they probably have more people knocking on the door than they can talk to. So then I filled it out and it took me two days to fill it out, actually. 

And then I scheduled the call and I got on the phone with one of their guys. And he called me when I was out in the shopping mall with Anastasia. And Erica, I was really young at the time. And I picked up the phone we spoke and I started pretending that I’m a prospect. I’m sort of pretending that I want to buy coaching because I’m miserable for whatever reason. And I guess it wasn’t a certain level of misery at the time. You know, I was working quite a bit and was still very stressed out. I had back pain. 

And so we spoke for like an hour and a half at some point while still remembering that I am playing with prospects just to find out how they sell and taking note of the different things that he said. He asked me one question, which I don’t even remember what the question was, I just remember it was a question which made me completely flip and want to buy the coaching. By the end of the day, I pay the Tony Robbins foundation, I think I paid them $9,800  for coaching for a year. And I went through that coaching as well like diligently did all the exercises, etc. It was a good experience. It was a good introduction to NLP and a bunch of other techniques.

But it wasn’t me playing prospect and basically getting sucked into it and then actually buying it. I learned a lot from that call. I definitely incorporated some techniques into my own calls to make them more effective. And that’s like an example of what I would do to get better, to understand the market better, to get better, you know, I would play prospect, I would go watch people’s content webinars, read their books that they publish, read their emails, obviously. I mean, I get, at this point, probably 500, maybe even 700 emails a day. I don’t read all of them, of course, and I sort them out in my inbox, but it just tells you that over the years, I’ve been spying on everybody. There’s literally no marketer out there, at least within my immediate niche market and maybe the extensive niche market that I don’t know what they got going on. I just know like, this is my soap opera. You know, I don’t go watch Netflix I go check out what people are mailing.
